The I.G.S. GROWTH Framework
Our Proven Approach

A scientifically grounded, Africa-centred methodology for sustainable transformation — built for the realities and strengths of the African professional.

A Methodology Built on Evidence

The I.G.S. GROWTH Framework is not adapted from a template — it was developed from the ground up, drawing on three powerful pillars of human development science and shaped by the lived realities of African professionals and leaders.

We believe that lasting transformation requires more than motivation. It demands a structured, repeatable process that honours both the individual and their cultural context.

6-Step GROWTH Framework

The 6-Step GROWTH Process

Each letter of GROWTH represents a deliberate stage in your transformation journey — from deep self-discovery to sustainable results.

1
G
Gather Insights

Deep self-assessment using validated psychometric tools. You explore your strengths, beliefs, patterns, and blind spots — building an honest, evidence-based picture of where you are today.

What You Do
Complete strengths inventories, reflective journaling, 360-degree feedback gathering, and one-to-one diagnostic conversations with your coach.
2
R
Reframe Beliefs

Identify and challenge limiting beliefs through evidence-based cognitive reframing techniques. What stories are holding you back? We surface them, examine them, and replace them with empowering alternatives.

What You Do
Belief mapping exercises, guided CBT-informed dialogues, evidence testing, and the construction of new empowering belief statements anchored in personal values.
3
O
Own Your Vision

Co-create a compelling, specific personal or professional vision that aligns with your deepest values. Ownership means this vision belongs to you — not your employer, family, or society.

What You Do
Values clarification exercises, vision board creation, crafting a personal mission statement, and defining what success truly looks like for you in 1, 3, and 5 years.
4
W
Work the Plan

Build a structured, milestone-based action plan with weekly accountability check-ins. Strategy without execution is merely a dream — this stage turns insight into disciplined daily action.

What You Do
Design 90-day sprint plans, break goals into weekly micro-commitments, establish accountability partner relationships, and use digital tracking tools provided by IGS.
5
T
Track Progress

Monitor progress with measurable KPIs, celebrate wins, and adapt plans based on data. Growth is not always linear — this stage ensures you stay on course even when life shifts.

What You Do
Weekly progress reviews, KPI dashboards, mid-programme reassessment sessions, and structured celebrations of small wins that reinforce positive momentum.
6
H
Harvest Results

Consolidate gains, build sustainability systems, and establish practices for continued growth beyond the programme. Your transformation must outlast the coaching relationship.

What You Do
Capstone reflection sessions, personal leadership manifesto writing, creation of a self-coaching toolkit, and graduation into the IGS alumni community for ongoing peer support.

Built on Proven Research

Every stage of the GROWTH Framework is grounded in peer-reviewed science — adapted, not imported, for the African professional context.

Positive Psychology

Drawing on Seligman's PERMA model — Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Achievement — alongside character strengths identification using the VIA (Values in Action) inventory. We focus on what is right with people, not what is wrong.

Seligman (2011) · Peterson & Seligman VIA Framework

Neuroscience

Leveraging neuroplasticity principles — how the brain forms new habits and rewires itself through deliberate practice under coaching. We use spaced repetition, embodied learning, and emotion-regulation techniques to accelerate neural pathway formation.

Doidge (2007) · Siegel's Interpersonal Neurobiology

Adult Learning Theory

Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle — Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualisation, Active Experimentation — adapted for professional development. Adults learn best by doing, reflecting, connecting, and applying.

Kolb (1984) · Knowles' Andragogy Principles
Personal reflection in nature — an integral part of the IGS methodology

Time for Reflection Is Built In — Not Bolted On

Unlike western coaching models that are purely task-focused and output-driven, our approach recognises the African value of reflection, community, and the long view. We create structured space for introspection at every stage of the GROWTH journey.

Our coaches are trained to work with collectivist identity, multi-generational responsibility, and the unique ambitions of African professionals navigating a rapidly evolving continent. This is not a one-size-fits-all model imported from elsewhere — it was shaped here, for here.

Growth is not a destination — it's a daily practice of becoming.

— Dr. James Muwanga, Co-Founder, Inspire Growth Solutions
